Uranium density was forced into critical mass
and as a pile half life went away...
Does a Neutron take away half life for
an instant chain reaction?

The whole Uranium atom has to split into two products.
It is more than just the nucleus. It is electron rearangement for
two new atoms. Fission and fusion are more than
nuclear or core atom order... It is for electrons as well.

FYI, your complete ignorance of all physics is showing again.
Uranium fission was seen (and is visible) in a cloud chamber
precisely because the fission fragment DO NOT take the electrons
of the Uranium atom with them,
